NGORONGORO SOPA LODGE

Perched on the edge of what is often referred to as the 8th Wonder of the World is the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. It’s exclusive position on the Eastern rim affords it some of the most spectacular views of this collapsed volcano. Covering an area of 240 sq kilometers the crater floor is home to the densest population of animals in the world and amongst its residents is the endangered black rhino.


Location

Facing the always magnificent sunsets to the west, and located at the highest point on Ngorongoro crater’s entire rim, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge stands well over half a kilometre above the crater floor and offers unparalleled views across this enormous caldera. This is 170 km from Arusha.​


Transfer Time

Via road (4 hours from Arusha) or via air (40 minutes with an airstrip transfer time of 45 minutes)​

Accommodation

Spacious rooms with ensuite bathroom, private lounge and balcony. Each room boasts two queen-size beds. Themed around traditionally circular African houses with conical roofs, and decorated with examples of Africa’s rich tapestry of artistic traditions by way of rich woodcarvings and sculptures, the lodge harmonizes perfectly with its dramatic surroundings. But the drama does not just stop with the great outdoors: it also flows through the split level interiors of the main building which all offer an unsurpassed generosity of space while somehow managing to combine an almost magically welcoming ambience of both warmth and cosiness.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge has 97 rooms and can accommodate a maximum of 186 guests and has pool. All rooms is equipped with electronic safety. The lodge is child friendly; Special meals and babysitters are available.. Air-conditioning and heating is also available. Each room has indoor showers. It also has personal bars.
